Development and History

Like stated earlier, Sonic CD was released in September 1993 as one of the Sega CD's best selling titles. Although, this was only the case for the Japanese release because the team wanted to go international and sell the game to a much broader audience. The game was delayed for an additional 2 months for the United States and Europe because the team overseas didn't really think the upbeat, funky music didn't sit right with each of the levels. So, within a span of several weeks, the team overseas had to create an all new soundtrack from scratch. When the game finally reached American and European shelves in November 1993, it now had 2 notable soundtracks which is an iconic reason why Sonic CD is well known and loved by many fans to this day.
